These gamers are already proven world class players. They just need a little help financially to be able to prove it once again this year.
Bringing a medal back home would be the first step of showing that Singapore has got what it takes to shine in this arena. Perhaps the government would be more interested to take gaming seriously after that.
However, this first step, sadly, has to come from the public and community people. If no one make a move, then nothing will happen.
Similarly if there is a world class overclocker in VR community, I'm sure VR would have tried to raise funds for him to compete in the international arena. Would overclocking have a future in SG? I guess it also feels good to see one of your community people representing SG on the international stage.
