Only the Alienwares, Sonys, Clevos and Zeptos can actually match the Macs price for price. But even when they do so, they beat out the Macs by a huge margin in performance.
Acer's most expensive 18" blu-ray quad core laptop costs only a mere $3000, way cheaper than the 17" MAcbook Pro which has nothing near the specs of the Acer. And Alienware just released its mobile i7 laptop, which is cheaper than the Macbook Pro. |
Hardware is not the problem, I believe all these are capable machines. But it's the OS.
I used OS X since 2005, till now, I went through 3 OS generations and all using 1GB RAM. I never optimised my OS and all upgrade were done without reformat. And it's still boot up fast, run fast and shutdown fast.
Last time when I still have my Nikon D2x, I edited my 12MP photos on Photoshop using only 1GB RAM and it is not slow at all. I enjoyed multiple photos.
I believe Windows 7 performance should be good too....so I dun think I will complain about performance...the only thing I might complain is the UI.
