currently i am using a freeware and have a hard time converting a dvd disc to ipod format as it takes almost 10hours to convert a dvd disc. i need to manually convert the 5 files in the dvd disc(vob format), each vob(about 1gb) takes at 2hours to convert.

am i taking too long to convert, my pc is running at decent processor which i just upgraded last year with 2gb DDR 667 ram, onboard graphic card and 500gb WDAAKS hdd.

can someone recommend me a software(freeware if possible) that is able to convert faster, best if can convert the whole dvd with just one click instead of converting one file at a time.

hope to do some dvd conversion at home during this festive period. need help from expert here. thanks.

what is your 'decent processor'? and what freeware are you using? Tried Handbrake?

handbrake is for imac only right? it takes how long to convert a dvd disc?

you can use handbrake for window.it a freeware. speed depend on processor and type of eg MP4 at H264 or for PSP.

I would highly recommend Yasa mp4 video converter, it is fast and works with many video formats, can extract audio, split files. And it's easy and intuitive in use.
