Hi currently I've got a 2.8GHz 15" Macbook Pro Unibody with 4GB RAM. Upgrade to 8GB RAM from Apple itself is abit pricy, 1.6k. Are there any other 3rd party RAMs which work with the MacBook Pro?

never ever get RAM from Apple...

all 3rd party RAMs work fine on Macs. there are some reports on incompatibility, but they're pretty rare. I've used Kingston for years, both DIMM or SODIMM (newer iMac & MB/MBP)

actually Apple us DDRIII ram. can buy it yourself and install yourself..

just rip the old ones out and see the specs.. get the same one back with higher capacities no worries.
