Apple has finally done something that iMac users have been wishing for since the dark ages...

using ur iMac as a monitor!

AppleInsider | Apple's new 27 inch iMac designed to also work as a display

for the 1st time, the iMac 27" can be used as an external display through DisplayPort Input.
yes, u can plug ur MacBook/MBP directly into it & voila! 27" monitor!

for HDMI devices, can use the HDMI - Display port cable/adaptor.
