Female student escorts in 3 star hotel, 90 minutes for $170.
This online advertisement appeared on MediaCorp classifieds website mocca.com, arousing the concern of netizens, who raised the question if the advertisement was for paid sex services.
One reader told evening Chinese daily, Lianhe Wanbao, that this was not the only questionable ad that can be found on the site.
A call to the number displayed in the ad by a Wanbao reporter was answered by a man.
He admitted that the advertisement was indeed for prostitution services. He also told the reporter that he had at least five pretty girls available for selection.
But for safety purposes he could not let clients see the girls' faces online, so they have come see them personally.
The man also told the reporter that he has been in this line for four years, and those who contact him are usually local businessmen.
The girls who come under his 'care' are local Chinese aged between 20 and 24, amongst some who are undergraduates.
The man elaborated that for undergrads the going rate is $400 per hour, more that what other girls charge, which is $250 per hour.
He told Wanbao that clients must make booking three hours in advance, as well as handle their own hotel bookings. For house calls, the clients must foot the taxi fares.
He added that payments for their services are usually settled directly with the girls or money can be deposited into a bank account.
In response to press queries, Wanbao said that Mediacorp could not respond by press time.
A check by Wanbao this morning found that the particular ad had been removed, but other similar ones could still be found there.
