'My mistress had been keeping a toyboy'

She was a slim, attractive woman in her 40s who was not afraid to show off her slender body and often wore sexy, revealing tops and hot pants.
When Mr Tan, who is 59, met May (not her real name) at a bar in Joo Chiat, where she was working as a hostess, he was smitten by her. He found that they hit it off well, and he decided to make her his mistress, three months after they met.
In the beginning, he thought he was very lucky. He could fool around with his mistress, and his wife never found out about his 4-year extra-marital affair.
But he suspected something was amiss in September this year.
Mr Tan said: "She started becoming very cold towards me. That's when I hired a private investigator to check on her, and found that she was actually keeping a younger man behind my back."
After confronting his mistress, she admitted to keeping a toyboy. She told Mr Tan that she still loved him, and did not want him to leave her.
Mr Tan was not gullible enough to be cheated twice and stood firm on the breakup.
But the story did not end there.
Mr Tan had spent more than $100,000 of his savings on his mistress.
He said: "I would give her a monthly allowance of $2000. When she wanted to renovate her apartment, I immediately gave her money to do so. If she wanted to buy jewellery, I'd buy it for her. I even gave her money for her beauty treatments.
"Now, I'm left with nothing. Luckily, my wife forgave me after finding out about the affair, and we are still together."
He was her 7th affair
Mr Tan later learnt that May had been up to more than one affair.
After getting married at 19, she became involved in an extra-marital affair with a man in his 30s. She even went through two abortions. She was eventually divorced from her husband.
After that incident, she came to Singapore from Malacca to work as a bar hostess, where she met a man in his 60s and became his mistress.
The man had struck lottery and was very rich. He bought her a house in her hometown in Malacca and paid for her monthly expenses. But despite being doted on by the old man, she was still discontented. She became involved with one of her younger clients at the bar.
When the elderly man died, he left her with about $200,000 cash, which she promptly used to keep three toyboys.
While one boyfriend left her after he met someone else, her two remaining boyfriends learnt about each other and got into a huge public fight over May.
Mr Tan said: "It was then that I got to know May and became her seventh man."
