I blame it all on the FA. Their choices with coaches leaves me speechless...

As a non-England supporter, I'm actually very glad that they didn't qualify.
IMO, this is a good lesson for the English team as some of the players (esp. those from Chelski) think that they're BIGGER than the national team.
I'm also glad that some of the cocky English pundits at Football Focus were proven wrong. :D
Good news indeed. :thumbs_up
... and BTW (sorry for OTing), also very happy that Argentina were beaten by Columbia. :D

Nice, they don't deserve a place anyway.

Well the problem with England lies with the FA's choice of manager. I suppose even if England did qualify, they'll do badly in the tournament itself and will eventually still replace the manager.
No doubt the manager lacks international experience, but I saw Van Basten & Klinsmann did pretty well for a first timer. So where does the fault lies? It has do with the manager firstly choosing the players and then choose a tactic to suit the players. That's precisely why we kept seeing Lampard partnering Gerrard in the middle of the park. No doubt they're both great players for their respective clubs but its pretty obvious they don't complement each other well for England.
Look what Van Basten did for the Dutch side. He chooses his style of play and went scouting for players to play to his style. In the process even if it means benching Van Nistelrooy, he'll do it. Players ego has to be cast aside, they have to have the passion to play for England.

Ex-Chelsea boss Mourinho early England favourite
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2007
Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is early favourite for the vacant England manager's job.
FA chief executive Brian Barwick today said the task of finding a new manager would be handled differently to the last appointment which turned into a fiasco.
"The recruitment process for the new coach begins now and we will do everything to get the right man for the job," he said.
"It will be done differently. We've got to learn lessons from the way we did it."
The FA have not ruled out appointing a foreign coach and have not set a time limit on the search for the right man.
The latest odds are:
Jose Mourinho 4-1; Martin O'Neill 5-1; Luiz Felipe Scolari 7-1; Guus Hiddink 8-1; Fabio Capello 10-1; Stuart Pearce 12-1; Alan Shearer 12-1; Sam Allardyce 16-1; Marcello Lippi 16-1; Harry Redknapp 16-1; Alan Curbishley 16-1.

Mourinho probably can stand up to those england players with inflated egos. I cant see O'Neill and Scolari doing it. Hiddink is not too bad
Another another guy that is happy that England is out - but I naively hope this has no effect on the number of foreign players in the BPL

Cool! I hate England anyway. They seem to destroy every game they play in. I'm so glad they didn't retain their rugby world cup too.
