Ocean's Twelve postmortem (spoilers)

Hey so who has watched Ocean's Twelve coz I have to say I didn't really get the scam in the end. Like how did the nerdy Matt Damon's character's mom get into it (the twist was good and funny but made no sense)? And the principled Catherine Zeta Jones character just gave up her principles and her life long passion and dedication to her job upon seeing her dad. I mean there wasn't enough character development there to even explain the history with her dad and she didn't even show one iota of conflict..

Loved the whole Julia Roberts gag though and Bruce Willis turning up like that "Jules!!" :laugh3: although did his character fussing over Julia remind anyone of his wishy washy act in The Whole Ten Yards?

Brad Pitt was dishy but I like best that he gave his character all these funny expressions whenever he realised something like when the car blew up as he was walking towards it and when he realised his handphone was stolen.

Besides the mom to the rescue thing, the other thing I didn't get at all was how Ocean was in cahoots with Lemark (sp?) all the way and how on earth the egg happened to be in a backpack on the way out. But I think I did see the egg bag got switched during the football-supporters' scuffle on the bus.

So anyone care to elaborate or share any views on that show? In my opinion, story was really lacking but a fun cast to watch and fun to see them get back together if you watched the previous one and like to see stars. :devil:

Don't think Ocean 12 dvd is out yet, but soon? Maybe rent from EZ-video or dvd shop when it's out for another marathon! Although from my brief sketchy review, you can tell, I don't think it's worth watching twice! Bourne Supremacy is better.

Hey all, I a newbie! Wanted to share my views on Ocean's 12! First off, didn't think it was anywhere near as good as Ocean's 11, but then again, very few sequels are.

The reason why Matt Damon's character Linus's Mom got involved was because the whole stint had been set up from the word go, remember? The 3D holographic egg, the fact that they all ended up in prison had been set up because they already had the egg. It had been stolen in transit - before it even got to the museum. So Linus's Mom had been involved on it too, because the rest of the events were all planned. So she had obviously been told that she would have to get them out of jail, cos they knew they would be there in the first place.

But the audience doesn't realise that till the end. :curious:

Pretty much all of the movie was pointless, because they already had the egg. The rest was all a show. It's like they played a trick on us. :sad3:

Woah, if the 12 already had the egg, why go to all that trouble to get caught stealing a fake one and get themselve noticed by authorities. And how was did the egg end up in a backpack at first. And how did lemark get involved. And you mean linus' plan w julia roberts was also conceived of by the gang as a whole and not his own afterthought coz that's just weird.

Ok, see the whole thing that we saw first - them getting the holographic egg, getting arrested, getting "Julia Roberts" involved was all done as a show to the 'Night Fox' guy. The whole thing was all a show, because they had the egg, but they put on a show for the Night Fox so they would seem like they hadn't got it.

I'm not too sure why they did this!

Also I don't know whether "Julia Roberts" plan was an afterthought or concieved by the whole gang, I'm thinking the latter, because George Clooney didn't seem that suprised to see her.

The egg was switched with a fake when it was in transit and put into a rucksack and passed onto Linus etc.

Also can't rem who Lemark was?

They knew they would get caught by the authorities, so they had already organised for Linus's mom to get them out of the jail. It was all planned.

There's a lot of time jumps in the movie, it's hard to follow! :shoot11:

Lemark was the master thief, also Nightfox's mentor and catherine Z's father! It was strange that he was in cahoots with the 12 unless he had something against his protege.

I rem the guys in prison betting how far linus would go before being caught at the museum so maybe they did know.

I think the show requires several leaps of logic coz they concentrated only on the cool factor to draw audience and cha-ching *jackpot action*

And I just realised, anyone else think linus looks like the linus from charlie brown?

yea this 2nd part sucks alot... oc11 was much better... when i am watching it... i was waiting for something big to happen... i cant the climax at all... unlike oc11 where u know when the climax will be... end up oc12 is portrayed in a different way... towards the ending, when they started to tell how they achieve this and that i find it damm anti climax.... linus mother to the resuce, and they changed the egg on the way out... and how the (dunno wat name) theif that they made a deal with to steal the thing...... hai... bad bad bad... no suspense and no climax.... only a bunch of highly paid actor and actress... but there are still funny parts thou...
