1.8l car? road tax gonna be sky high, and since it's an evo, insurance also gonna burst the roof.

But bro, i rahter u get a new car and ZHENG it lor... its not worth it on the long run. And besides, if its a real evo, then its a good deal. But since its a mod-look-a-like Lancer, i dun see a point.

So it's not a born 1.8l car, but a car that was modded from 1.6l to 1.8l. Then you must ask yourself if the car will pass inspection or not since the engine is not original.
For a 1600cc car, the road tax is $1312/year, and for 1800cc, it's $1588/year.
Insurance isn't very cheap. I asked previously for a 1.3GLXi and it was almost $1200 without NCD.

haha 100% bore the pistons to get the 200cc. It's alright if I were u I'd get it cuz we're young but dude once you're caught for modding the engine you're quite screwed :D.
BUt still this lancer series is sweet vintaG3

Yup, if you really wanna chiong, get a modified body lancer to play with rather than something with higher HP.
If i were you, i`ll get a Civic, drive and scrap.

To pengzhi: my concern lies more with whether the car is legal or not. And also whether the car will pass inspection if there's any.
Furthermore, the car, being modded heavily, you would probably guess that the driver might be a tiongster. How good a condition is the car then?
Money-wise, i think you can afford la, since you wanna pay full cash, but take in consideration the other costs, such as road tax, fuel, INsurance etc.

The best thing about buying a 2nd hand car is that the car is readily available..loan approve can get..I am waiting for my new Axio..since past 2 weeks...damn sian...I think because COE increase dealer lose money if release the car too soon..
2nd hand cars do not face such setbacks...

1.6L modded 1.8L, beware of the consequence if you get caught..
and another thing is the condition of the car.... is it in good condition? as the previous owner may be a chiongster.... was the car whacked until damn jialat?
next... of course he tells u that will pass inspection, which seller will want to tell a potential buyer that there is something wrong with the item. there are even people who say that operated mufflers or changing the extractor cfm can pass inspection.. but that is not always the case... it really depends on your luck.... I'd suggest u seriously think through this... if you're caught with the "upsized" engine, your fine will be huge... if i not wrong is count the difference from the 1st day the car is officially registered until the time you're caught...

How long have u been looking for a car?
U seem like jumping in more for the price and the image.
Engine mod is no joke (if caught)
Cars > 10 years is no joke when maintenance comes
Cars > 10 years road tax is no longer normal rate, it is additional 10% subject to max 150% of prevailing road tax

Copied from sgcarmart
Road Tax Surcharge (for vehicle over 10 years)
Age of Vehicle Annual Road Tax Surcharge
More than 10 years 10%
More than 11 years 20%
More than 12 years 30%
More than 13 years 40%
More than 14 years 50%
CRX is 1596CC.
If a < 10 yr car, road tax per year is 872.
Since it is 16 yrs (I assume), road tax is 1308.
Insurance for new car owner less than 32 years old should be about 2000-2100.
CR-X is 2 door, so your insurance will be even higher than that.
