Have a read on the net for some driver reviews of professional drivers, I can only give you a very blink experience of a 20 minute drive.

First impression, I found it hard to get in, but again, all sports car are like that. Pratical aspects of motoring are out of the window, consider the boot space, the reason why we got the BMW Z4 over the BMW 3 Series Convertible was because the Z4 offered larger boot, at least I was able to fit my sisters Cello in...

I liked the design, in my opinion much better than that of SW20 and AW10. Overall, the design was nice and well appointed and not over the top...

In terms of the performance, I didnt really stretch the limits, however, the first impression was the agile handling. I have driven many RWD cars but this one really stood well as a Japanese car, handling was superb, much better than what I had initially thought. I did a quick Wikipedia search for you and found ZZW30 was the lightest MR2/MRS out of all other generation which is the reason for the excellent handling.

I personally though the power balance of the car was quite nice. It was referred on Wikipedia as slightly underpowered, but I really thought that the power was enough for the kind of chassis the car was built on with around 130hp out of the 1.8L DOHC engine which isnt bad at all. Maybe that is due to my daily drive car being a 318i (which lacks power) but the best option would be for you to give it a drive and see for yourself.

The MRS is an old car dating back to 1999, you may want to consider other potential options such as Mazda MX5 and take it into consideration...

Yea, but why would you want to do that? or why would anyone want to do that?

Its like people sticking M3 badges on their 318i...happens all the time...

Nah... Bugatti Veyron best la. 1k horses leh. Jokes aside, since TS you on budget then why go for convertibles? They're lifestyle cars leh... If you really wanna get a convertible, then save up and get a good one like mazda mx-5, peugeot or volvo.
