Going Kaohsiung, good and whats not?

Anyone care to share some insights?
For example bus vs cab and where is nice place to shop?

Google isn't kind to me compared to taipei.

okay came back from kaoshiung.

they have some mega malls theres -
Dream mall, Sogo and Fe 21.
normal stuff..
Dream mall has a daiso which is 39NT for all the items.
Worth a visit, has alot of good stuff.

Carrefour there has factory outlet, real cheap shoes.
Nike for about 1.2k NT - 1.9k NT for most models.
If you have membership at costco TW - you can go to Costco to buy bulk supplies.

The IT places where you can get most of parts is at the railway station.
Its like chinatown feel, the whole stretch of road is filled with parts but its not as updated as you might thing.
If you don't mind export sets for PDA phones, Asus p750 was selling 550 sgd.

the night market there isn't bad at all... lots of things to see and eat.
that is, shopping at night.. :)

2nd main city in Taiwan ...

- at night go for a cruise on Love River, Ai He .... :lol:

its near Tainan ... b sure to go Tainan ... if u been to Taipei ... wat u pay for the portion of food in Taipei is half in Tainan ...

There is a fortress in Tainan ... a must see ...

Transportation in Kaohsiung isnt as good as Taipei ... Cab are a good way to go ard ... i remember that there is a upcoming MRT line ... i wonder if its done ...

u can also go for the Hi-Speed Rail located at Zuo Ying ... it takes 2 hrs to Taipei only :D
