How to enlist NS early?

I am ITE student....already finish paper and graduate.....

Waiting for NS...I am going to know my result tomorrow and which poly to go....

I want to go NS first...I worry I cannot reserve a place in poly...because I have receive no enlistment letter till now...

my friend tell me can call MINDEF and enlsit early...

I just want to know is it advisable to do that? what should I do to enlist early?

can somebody help me...? I scared I may miss the chance? which hotline should I call or email?

How old are you? 18 and above or below 18 this year? If it's the former, just wait for your enlistment letter. Otherwise, go to www.ns.sg

Click on: Pre-enlistees -> Register for NS -> Enlist early for NS

Follow the instructions.

if nt wrong, u will get ur enlistment letter soon after ur 18, if u nvr defer. unless u like my fren liddat.. delayed for 1 year then get the letter.. Best u should just call, or go down to cmpb

I 18... got my medical checkup later liao.. but cause maybe i heading overseas for study after NS so i scare i might tio 2nd batch (april/may batch) so when i head down for medical checkup tt time, i will ask for early enlistment

anyhow how to defer NS?
they will send u a letter when its time to register for ns. then u need to go online to register. before tt they will ask u whether u want to defer for ns. if u click yes, it will be either a straight approved if they got record of u studying, if not they will ask u send in relevant documents saying u will be studying till then. from what i noe, you CANNOT defer NS for degree courses

that's a good idea. if you can defer, which you should be able too cos you havent defer before.

you defer, complete your diploma and you can go into army as dip graduate.. can at least go command school which i believe is, if you can go, you should go :)

I now in JC so diff from ur case...i will be asking for enlistment into the jan batch cause i scare i tio the april batch cause i maybe heading overseas after army so i scare i may not make it for the course

I already check and ask on the spot...during enrollment, you pobably never go poly before....nvm...

They already told me clearly I need to PAY.....:D

and I feel...they are right to do that...

and I have ask whether I am allow to reserve a place to go NS...they also let me reserve...:)

Command school is too broad. Technically anyone can go SISPEC, depending on how well you perform and whether if you sign on, but only A levels / Poly and above can go OCS.

:lol:...I know many people don't understand why will I choose to go NS first even though I can go poly....

actually there is a lot of reason...I just want to do it when I young...after poly...I don't want to do NS anymore...

like I say...both poly and NS have pros and cons...just how you weight it...:lol:

and there is no right or wrong....just depend on individual...:lol:

yeah like he said above.. but i think, in NS, being a commander let it be a spec or a officer, will look nicer on a job resume and CV, and in some sense you will learn more.. but of course if your whole point in army is to slack, then no matter what you joint or do, you will still slack and wont learn/experience as much as if you can.

The Enlistment Act stated as long u are 16 and above u can enlist.
