sigh.. it started out so promising..... every scene was captivating and intriguing.... tom cruise was brilliant and dakota fanning was her scary best just like her role in hide and seek.... the aliens were kick ass..... but somewhat stupid at times... and..


the ending is terrible, albeit you could say a little 'realistic', but it was certainly super duper anti climax. what a let down....



movie minus ending: worth any price
overall movie: worth $7-8.

I saw the flick yesterday. I found it very enjoyable, and although not too much like the original it was very good and worth the money to see.

However Alot of the alien vehicles reminded me of HL2's tripod like enemies..even the weapons.

seriously i'd kinda like da whole show if its not for de boring ending :rolleyes1 it was quite'an exciting show and very unique imo... esp the part that long eye shiet came down into the basement of the house searching for humans... so freakin tense lol.. and in the end they all just died due to germs in our food,water and air :rolleyes1 :rolleyes:

Don't think it was meant to be 'better'. It's based on a book written how many years ago. Obviously the science of the story not so good. But I found the show excellent. More for terrifiying the audience than exciting them.

I think it was done rather tastefully... the scenes of destruction when u got to see them were quite spectacular but the drama is where the real meat is at. Its a human drama rather than a special fx show. The ending for me is abit of a letdown though.. it was just too happy.

Oh btw, the robots do not feed on the humans, more like harvest the humans to spread sum sort of weed to make the planet more habitable for the aliens.

A little info on the history of this story. Back then when there were just radioshows, this story actually made people in the US all paranoid that aliens were actually invading the planet...heh.
