Well it could have been worse. At least we came away with a 0-0 draw. Considering the amount of possession Barca enjoyed, I was amazed they didn't manage to score, what with all their firepower up front.

I'm disappointed because Barca has one of the weakest defense among the teams remaining in the CL, not to mention Carles Puyol didn't play; and we can't even score a goal against them.
... but honestly, we haven't been playing well for the past couple of months and we're actually fortunate to be in the semi-final as well as hold onto a 3-pt advantage over Chelski in the BPL.
If we continue this way, I think we may end up winning nothing this season. I can sense that C.Ronaldo is becoming complacent and Rooney is actually more hype than substance.

i think Rooney is carrying an injury during the match and Ronaldo was always asking for freekick after each and every knock...Yaya Toure looks good and our midfield was very dead with all those wayward long balls...fergie should had started Pique instead of brown and most importantly WHY NO ANDERSON...!

Yes it is weird because over the years, Man Utd's period of dominance always comes during the second half of the season.
And according to the statistics and commentary of the match (I didn't watch it either), it definitely seemed that the first priority for them was defence and not offence.
Perhaps Fergie was being cautious because of the late reshuffle of his defence, but yes, I too feel that they should have taken the game to Barca.
In any case, 0-0 still puts us in the driving seat for the finals, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :D

Lol that was my first reaction when I saw the line-up.
Sigh, if only that blasted penalty had gone in, we definitely would have had a much more interesting and exciting game on our hands. :fryingpan

I don't think it is good for us. Every goal they score, we'll need to score 1 more otherwise we'll be out based on the away goal rule.

Old Fergie already said that he'll play Ah Pek Scholes all the way till the final. If that is not sentimental, then pls enlighten me on what that is.

Heh, if our defence doesn't let us down, I don't see why we won't be able to get past them.
Ah come on, you've gotta have some faith - it's the Theater of Dreams!

Well I didn't watch the match, so I'm not gonna comment on his performance.
But Fergie said that Scholes was United's best player. I have no comments to his statement either.

Hope you're right because we aren't invincible at home unlike the cheating Chelski.
Remember the match against the citizens ? :(

I agree with fergie... if u guys see the stats of how many completed pass.. he was better in terms of the many younger players.. moreover his job wasn't to collect the ball and charge... he is to slow down the momentum that Barca has always been good at.. He is tasked to charge when Barca are broken from their momentum...and hold and get the ball away from deco and co., when they are in the attacking style. To me he's the lynch pin. If you all see he was pretty commanding yesterday compared to the rest. He was also the one organizing the gang. He also showed that he was no pushover when comes to getting the ball for man utd. Although i go along with the view that yes he's old... but his experience yesterday was needed at the immense atmosphere of Nou Camp.

I think man utd is ought to be better playing safe... though yes Barca is at its weakest when comes to defense at this point of time... but their attacking from ETO and gang are keeping the defense busy. Moreover guys, man utd are facing chelsea for the chase for the premiership crown, looking at this fact... i guess Fergie has every reason to play safe than sorry .. by being defensive minded... moreover is an away match. Looking at this POV i believe this justify why the match was boring since man utd didn't perform the usual attacking style.... on another note Barca attackers like messi is one too much a menace.
