HORRIBLE storyline - totally disjointed.
e.g. bunta says the fc's tires will wear out cos ithas 250hp.... err. tak jay's car has 240hp...
story is just bad la. every part of it.

the way they make challenges is just sooooo crappy.

and since when did a racing strategy in D involve slowing down mid race and letting your opponent go first?

takumi looks bored even when overtaken

gutter run used to overtake like.... 5 times
no reaction of shock or wdv from opponents

ppl from different teams are good friends

sudo is a professonal driver who likes to wear leather (lol) comes with his car in some phillipino jeepsey....

drifiting action sucks. more like powersliding. should have at least used pro drivers. (come on, even SG drifters has better drift scenes)



actors -
mogi (natsuki) is supposed to be a schoolgirl and hooker... i dont really see a schoolgirl being 30+ years old

jay's acting is plain bad. tries too hard to look bored.

lazy to say more la. dont catch it if you dun wanna spoil ur initial D experience.

It wasnt that bad actually. Infact, i think it's pretty cool movie. the girl was pretty hot still. dont look like 30 year old like what you said.

You cant really "drift" on those tracks. unless you want 20 km/h or 30km/h on corners, which will make the movie a VERY slow one...

as for technicalies, erm, you might want to put it aside, since this isnt supposed to follow strictly to the anime. if it was, i wont watch, as it'll be waste of my money :)

sham sorry man but honestly that girl, i have many many AVs with better girls in them. she is no way below the age of 24 man.

unlike simplyadvanced, i dont care how closely the movie follows the anime or how technically "realistic" or pro the drifting is.

there are a few nice fast scenes and i like the effect of the camera going into the car mirror and coming out to be the view of the car on the road. also i enjoyed laughing at itsuki.

but the storyline was simply nonsense, it was such a rushed affair. the love scenes were not a turn on at all and lacked depth, and the races didn't feel just so exhilerating (no build up to it). my biggest disappointment was the part when the AE86 broke down. There was no prior warning, only ryosuke saying "one day u'll find a better car".. few minutes later, boom? in the anime, takumi was really feeling bad at that time due to his girl and the audience was made to feel it was a very sad episode. in the essence, there was a "man and machine relationship" being portrayed in the anime but certainly not the movie.

I nearly cried in the anime when the 86 died. i nearly cried in the movie when the 86 died cos it was just such a letdown.

What do you mean if you don't mind if the movie plot doesn't follow the storyline so it won't be just predictable same old storyline? It's as good as a bad movie using a popular franchise title name for promoting it.

Fans of the Initial D will want a proper big-screen conversion, not some gabbage fanservice to promote Jay, Jay, Jay! I don't care if Jay plays the lead role. How would you think certain marvel comic conversions and including the recent Batman begins succeeded ?

it doesnt really matter how they changed the plot la. but i kinda dun like how they randomly took lines off the original D with dont really mix into the movie. its like the scriptwriter juz duno what to write and cope here cope there.

Weird thing is....Keisuke Takahashi and his yellow FD3S is taken away entirely from the story - gives me a weird feeling that something vital and important to the storyline is lost.

The idea of Takumi blowing up his engine in this movie seems abit too hasty also.....

hmm.. imo.. if u watched the anime and u watch the movie... it is really very rush indeed... but movie is a movie.. it has limited time.. 1 movie to cover the whole stage 1.. lolx

but overall got its gd and bad point la... quite funny at times.. ^^

the movie covered the entire of Stage 1 & 2... I agree that the plot is kinda rushed and got everything mixed up... but you also can't really compare the movie and the anime... both are different... if the movie follows exactly the same as the anime... then it isn't really worth watching... but I must say the movie is hilarious... :D
