Indie Music.....

with many mis-interpretation of indie as indian type of music.. it is not. Indie basically mean independent t... as in independent recording company. Because there is such a major difference in size with many record company, most smaller one is one way or another associated to the BIG boys like? Universal, SONY,.... etc.

These BIG boys are there for a reason, money making... and if your volume is big.. be it if you are a small local band you WILL be signed with them eventually. And then your music is ver much "controlled" or rather you are pushed for albums after albums. Which a lot artist do not like.... (ok the context here is more US and UK based.) So a lot of bands and singers started out small from these independent Record company/labels and head off to BIG street if they make it. A very typical one would be Oasis.

So these small record companies usually are more relax and basically do it for the love of music and you find many rare cool tunes in the many many many RUBBISH-ISH ones. hahaha.. that is the fun of it..

I am cutting things short here so I might have missed out some detaisl.. but at least now people have a rough idea what is indie :D
