When do you guys think is a good time for Hong Kong?
I went before Chinese New Year, I think I prefer the colder weather so October onwards is good for me. I like wearing a scarf and eating the hot desserts and wanton mee in hot soup. Not a major shopper so not looking for crazy sales and mad crowds in Summer. And the cold weather makes it so much nicer to walk everwhere. My family went last month and complained it was hot!
What about you?

definitely not end of the yr, when it starts to become cold, cause all the shops will be selling winter season clothes, which means it's quite hard to buy normal t-shirt or shorts to wear in sg.... i kena 2x liao... damn sian... christmas... not really a good time either, on christmas eve, the roads will be damn packed, more packed than orchard road. the last time i went during christmas, i took about 45 mins to get to the MTR station which usually less than 10 mins can reach liao...

Food - eat at any of the small restaurants, like the size of our shophouses downstairs. Look for those where a you can see locals. Definitely eats lots of wanton mee, their average ones are way better than all of ours.
Wellington Street has Yung Kee, the roast goose place that Jackie Chan talks about in his travelogue on Hong Kong on tv. It's not the best but it's rather good although not cheap (HKD 320 I think for one whole goose). They have fantastic century eggs, really something special. The same street has 2 famous wanton mee stalls.
Seafood - locals go to Lanma Island although I haven't been myself but my younger went and still raves about it.
For breakfast, a lot of the MTRs have Maxim's Cakes. Their Bo Lor Char Siew bun is fantastic. My brother also loves this milk custard type bun, must eat hot. I've only tried it cold so cannot comment, apparently a lot of places and dim sum restaurants sell them.

food at any shophouse-like restaurant... the wanton mee there is superb.. for breakfast, u can try going to higher-class restaurants for dim sum... i remember there was this restaurant near Majestic hotel where i stayed when i last went.... the dim sum was good and cheap... and yes, like quarian said, seafood should go to lanma or lantau island.... there got a lot of choices to choose from....
about the t-shirt for sale during this time... yes it's true.. i went last december and only came back with at most 3 t-shirts cos it was winter season, most places sold winter clothes... want to find shortsleeve, it is very hard but still can find.
if u want to buy more branded underground brand T-shirts, can go to Causeway bay, the MTR where got a SOGO nearby one.. cause there are lots of underground brands over there, including bathing ape. or look for a retail outlet called i.t. it also specialises in this kind of clothes. try to buy those local magazines like Milk, as they got show info on where to go for to get the latest fashion.
IT stuff? u can go to Mongkok Computer Centre, but the prices there don't differ much from Singapore...
