If not wrong, there is this program named EO Video which can be used to convert rmvb and rm file types.

Here is a guide on how to use...

Hope it helps.

rm/rmvb are compressed mode.. tat's y those movies files u got hold are normally less than 500mb.. normally 300-400 mb only, thus by changing the format to mpeg or avi, the sound and video might not be in sync.. need a very powerful computer to do even u have the software.
try to find movie file tat's mpeg or avi.. normally 1 cd movie is about 700 mb .. from the net can find those avi/mpeg converters to convert the format to mpeg.. then use nero to burn can le.. :)

RMVB files are real media files you need to have you RealPlayer installed. You can use Real7ime Converter (R7C). Which you can download at http://r7cproj.euro.ru/indexe.htm url address. As this is really much a crappy software, you dun have much editing and convertion option. So below are a few steps you can carried out to convert into MPEG format.

Convert the video (image only) first into uncompressed avi (just a warning: size of video is is affected by resolution, framerate and duration of the video) to minimise quality loss. Then convert it into MPEG format with any MPEG encoder (recommend TMPGEnc).

As for the audio (sound only) convert it into WAV again to reduced quality loss, then finally using TMPGEnc to encode it into MP2 for VCD/DVD, AC3 DVD or DTS for DVD.

You can choose to convert the video and the audio together in TMPGEnc (no support for AC3 and DTS), or mux the video and audio together using TMPGEnc MPEG Tool.

I think this is the best optimal way for quality loss convertion yet not having to pay a single cent.
