Depends on how obese. E-coy currently is the morbidly obese batch and they do 6mths of BMT. I noticed their training is mostly quite lax since they cant be pushed much but they do a lot of stand by area/bed/whatever. Current CSM does not allow any food products to be brought into camp for them. Poor guys. But morale is high.
I heard some obese coys can be very shiong, if its a warrant officer coy. Especially so for those borderline overweight. They will try to push your weight down to acceptable with lots of physical activity.

Ooh I used to be from Falcon-Coy, March 13th 08 intake but I OOT due to injury and was recently posted out on the 8th week. Yup all the Cougar-Coy, Eagle-Coy, Falcon-Coy, Hawk-Coy all POP 11th June 08.
Their CSM is a bit psycho ah. Recently got all of them to bring their mattress downstairs and put it on the basketball court for stand by area.

I was an ex-PES BP recruit.
BP stands for PES B Pending.
After BMT i was posted to 3rd Guard to be a guardsmen.
We still go through the same training as normal recruits.

I was from Eagle Company, BMTC Sch1. It was "the gathering" for people who have BMI over 35. Like me.. I am 1.8.. was 128kg... After 6months of training I m proud to say I lost 38kgs... now i am @ 90kg.. I jus completed my MT Spec training.. All is well.. And yes.. I am IPPT silver standard now.. although a bit slack off since my days in BMTC.. Basically from the inside looking out.. I notice our training are well paced and targeted towards completing everything normal guys do. Jus that our schedule is really spaced out over the 6months program. I would say the craziest amongst us lost 58kg over the 6mths.. and I guess the training can be tough especially with people like us already "carrying" a ladened field pack before we begin anything... Circuit training, endurance, strength etc.. are just some names you will hear alot.. But we skip things like agility etc.. And we get aerobics, aqua aerobics, night run, etc to enhance our chances of becoming slim towards the "fit" goal... To be honest.. I enjoyed my time there. I completed all the routine stuff.. from Field Camp to SIT test even 24km route march with FBO =) Proud to be an eagle.. Has been, and always WILL BE!! =) Eagles eagles ALL THE WAY~~ we like it here we like it here we found ourselves a home a home sweet home!!!

wats stand by area
It's basically an inspection...there are various stand by...can stand by anything really..lol..common ones are stand by area where you have to clean your bunk from bottom to top and stand outside it and let your superior go in and inspect, then there is stand by bed where its the same as area but you stand beside your bed, not outside your bunk, and your locker has to be open and in order with the rest of the platoon. :songdah2:

The pes status condescend fat people but i went through it in one piece.
Nothing precarious but be more on the ball as diet is strictly watched.

BMI is grossly inaccurate to check for obesity.
I know of people who can press 120kg over their head
pull a 250kg deadlift and benchpress 110 kg.. they may not do well in endurance type of acitivies but they're insanely strong...yet go into as BP.

i enlisted into Eagle Coy in 14/06/07. You get to spend 6 months in BMT with the same batch of people and have MUCH more fun than anyone else in tekong.
Trust me, being in eagle is fun. PLUS, u get to lose weight!
P.S. i lost 52kg after 6 months =)
BMI before enlist = 147 / 1.9^2 = 40.72
BMI after tekong = 95 / 1.9^2 = 26.31
dont know about what others feel, but im happy as hell to be from BP

Wah bro... Is yours 6months bmt also? Me also Phase BP 6months. That was for my first medical checkup. Now awaiting 2nd medical result. Should be 6months also. But by march 09 i hope to reduce my weight so that i can go for 3 months bmt. Not 6. Hiaz...
BTW the way they categorize how many months bmt is according to your BMI level. anything above BMI 35 is 6months bmt.
