i just got downgraded by a LTC from MMI..
he said i'll be PES E from now on. i asked him if i will be exempted from ICT. he said most probably..and i'll will be PES F if i got my sexual reassignment done in the furture..
meanwhile wait for official document to be posted to me.
so does it mean i won't get a call up for ippt and ICT for now?
do i still have to get a exit permit if i go out of town?
i didn't ask them so much questions at that time as they were like roving my body , making me uncomfortable...
thanks boys if u cld help !

PES E ... E for Elites. LOL
Anyway, PES A, B, C and E ... If goto JB within 24 hours, no need to inform or apply for exit permit. For 5 days 4 nights holiday ( I went BKK and did not inform them ), I was given a notice that I did not inform them when I went overseas.
Anyway, informing them is very easy ... just that we kinda overlooked it ... 8 of us simply went to BKK without informing and all of us got that same notice. Oops :S
I only know about informing them but I do not know if informing them is considered applying for an exit permit or not.

do you mean while you are still in service or? Because if you meant after you completed your service, as PES E you will ROD instead or ORD .... means you have totally no more obligation with SAF

The common misconception is that PES E got no reservist.
PES E is liable to be called up for 5 years under normal conditions (ie peace times, not war) as compared to the normal 10 years. However, PES E clerks are seldom called up, I have no data for PES E officers as there are only very few and I won't be handling any anyway. SAF invest so much money into training officers, they might just use the 5 years quota. I have heard that now IPPT / RT defaulters are being charged by reservist officers at CMPB or somewhere... it has been long time since I've ORD. Unless your medical problem makes you unable to sit down and charge people (just need to talk and do paper work), I see no reason why they cannot recall you.

When you downgrade to Pes E, don't think it permanent....
either way, after your " Change " , you can call up your unit & request for a medical review to down grade you to Pes F ! Total Discharge ! :)

ORD = Opertional Ready Date - after u finish ur 2 yrs of ns
ROD = Relief of duty - when u reach 40 for man/specs, 50 for officer
