This is quoted frm what i have posted earlier. Started on new thread so that all of us can give comments and share your thoughts.Hope it help those who are unclear which earphones to get.If anyone have reviews on diff types of earphones, feel free to post it here.. Cheers!

Well,I have got a pan hje50, some ppl says tat theirs when rubbed against clothes or bags, they tend to produce sizz sounds, while some says tat the wire is flimsy..
however, i do not find it so. mine although used for only 5h, i dont find any sizz sound , most prob is tat some prob when encoding to mp3.
wire is not flimsy, rather it is almost alike sony ex71 one's which i have too..
seems tat left wire for pan is much longer than sony's. this is a gd plus as it does not keep feeling like the wire is stretched when u r walking on streets.

as for sound, it is really tight for pan , bass a bit missing. sony one have great bass but not quite clear. clearity for pan is definitely better than sony, while sony wins in terms of bass.4.5/5 for pan , 4/5 for sony.

both are noted as canalphones.fitting for pan seems to be firmer, over sony's.
(note tat i m refering to the middle size), so it wont fall out as easily.

cons for sony:-rubbery wires ( not quite suitable for those who sweats a lot)
-lacks in tight sounds
-a little more ex as compared to pan ( abt $20)
-only supply wif cap for the heads
-not all comes wif pouch (well, mine dont)

cons for pan: -some may have wires tat are very sensitive
-bass not great enough
-no caps like sony (some of us prefer tat+pouch)
-difficult to find replacements for sleaves
-warranty given to me was only a one week warranty

pros for sony:-great bass
-have x-factor (for some of us)
-1 yr warranty
-easy to find replacement for sleaves

pros for pan: -clear sounds produced
-higher vol.(eg. played on creative's tx fm,on vol. 14, pan
gave a louder production of music as compared to sony's)
-overall wires are gd ( not too slippery, just nice)
-cheaper (impt factor for budget-conscious)

conclusion: pan shd extend warranty to 1 yr like sony, sleaves shd be made
available to their shops, best if it is available for grabs in leading
IT stores (eg. harvey norman, bestdenki).

sony shd improve more on tighter production of sound, maybe
considering reducing bass by a little on the upcoming models.
Wires can be improved further. Extra accessories like pouch can
also provided, for ease of consumers(to put them in it)

I would recommend one to try out both before spending your money.determine whether u are towards which type of music (eg
pop, acoustic, etc), then choose your preferred earphones.

For this review (hope its still readable to all fellow friends in vr zone),i believe pan hje50 is the more outstanding one. Hope tat i would have more opportunities to try out other models frm other companies.

btw..i do not have an ipod mini by my side,so i didnt include anything abt equaliser.

Anyway, hope tat u would know more abt these 2 in-ears. Enjoy

the sizz sound you are referring to is known as 'microphonics'. common problem with canalphones. if get those higher end ones that seals even more, the microphonics is worse. so shure canalphones are designed to have the cables routed over the ears so that microphonics is eliminated. :)

etymotic got come with a clip to attach the cable to your shirt so that the cable won't rub so much. i wear my ety over the ears, like shures, so no microphonics also. :D

<$120(middle group) <$70 one i would recommend audio technica ck5, or creative ep-630 if you want more bass. <$120, not much, cos the cheapest shure, which is the e2c, also costs $180 locally. high end canalphones buy online is much cheaper than buying locally.
