I WAS driving along the ECP towards the airport on Feb 24 at about 9.30am. The road was clear and I was on my way to the Asian Aerospace show.
I was cruising when I noticed a new Subaru WRX traffic police car coming from behind. Being 'kiasu' like most Singaporeans, I changed lanes to get out of the traffic police's way.
The car passed me and I peeked at it to check it out. To my amazement, the policeman driving the car QX 5319 had his mobile phone in hand and he appeared to be sending an SMS message.
Imagine my disbelief and anger. How can the traffic police have double standards? I'm sure that the same laws apply to the traffic police as well, right?

Last time got ppl write in to say the police also make phone call and they investigated. What kind of example is our police setting for other road users? Still say pass it on... Pass on all the bad habits

actually wat i feel abt this case is that, either the person wrote in to ST forum hates the police (maybe he/she kana summon b4), or the police officer setting his hp off or trying to sms as stated in the letter. We don really know because theres no witness present on the spot. Only the person who complained n the police officer involved knows wat is going on. Lets just wait and see the outcome of it. (As wat most singaporean like to do, eat popcorn n see show :D)

but i can really sense dat there might be revenge on police side e.g more TP otr to check on traffic, road blocks etc. But as long as we ourselves follow the rule can liao. Better be safe den sorry right? :D

Thot that's the usual case, a wave of 're-enfocing Ops' will follow to ' Highlight ' and ' Ensure ' our laws are ' enforce ' across the board.
Another word, Show Us Who Are the Bosses Around.

wat ever the case, it is illegal to even hold a mobile phone in your hands while driving... unless you are stopped at a traffic light or by the side of the road. Thus, the TP that was holding the phone in his hand ought to be punished to the full extent of the law as TP's are the ones enforcing the law... who polices the police???
