hey guys,

I'm intending to get a budget AVR for my Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1. Budget maybe ard $300. but i dun mind 2nd hand ones cos i just want to learn a bit about audio.

any recommendations?

Denon 1507 i think goes for $420 with cables, first hand.
You can also try looking for Denon 1905/7 on the secondhand market.

$400.. a bit over my budget...

with regards to LFE, i connect my sub straight to the source?? cos the sub is using those 3.5mm mini-plug connection to connect to source. how do i connect the sub to the AVR? a Y cable??

if im not wrong, u can connect ur sub straight to ur source, in this case shud be the sound card. the satellites will be connected to ur avr.

one of my main aims is so that i can connect a few source to my AVR and use the same set of speakers.

There's no way i can connect the sub the LFE output of an AVR, if there is such a thing. sorry, really noob in audio hardware.

i think i got mine .. 2nd hand AVR .. denon AVR 1905 for $350 i think .. physical condition still ok .. been using it since den .. modded with fan to cool the AVR .. cuz very hot when operating u should try audio forums and look out for avrs

anyway, u using your Denon AVR with your megaworks 550?

ya. have to custom made the speaker cables to connect to my avr..den to xplosion sound card.

no. speaker to avr. avr to soundcard is optical cable.

Eh.. i tot the megaworks sats uses bare ends cables?? so should'nt need to custom-make anything..
