How did you develop the interest in audio? kvm Nov 25th, 07, 03:37 AM #1 (permalink)
In the past, I can never understand why some people are willing to spend so much money in audio devices. Perhaps to me, what goes in one ear comes out from another so everything sounds the same.

Recently I have been doing a few tests on the audio devices I bought together with the pioneer hifi set which has been sitting in my living room for the past few years. The more I train my ears the more I feel like dumping the pioneer speakers away, well it doesn't really sound that bad but the hearing is so unlike before. I finally felt that my investment in these audio devices has paid off every cent I have put in.

Right now 3am in the morning where all is quiet, I am playing 'Zai Shen Yuan', one of the theme song from Andy Lau's old film. The feeling is like travelling back in time as if the song has come alive. Although most of my audio devices are considered entry level to the true audiophiles out there, I am very content with my purchase. Until I upgrade my ears to the next level, then its time to start saving up for new toys but for now I just want to enjoy music that I have never heard of.

What about you guys? How did you develop the interest in audio?

Interest in audio came as I started listening to a broa0der range of music....
Became obsessed with hearing every single detail....thus keep spending more and more....

Now downgrade liao...cos in the pursuit of better sound...I found that I lost the enjoyment of listening...cos the ear is never happy with what it hears after a week or 2...

I'm more of a music lover than audiophile now.... but a minimum standard must be there

The amount you spend on your audio equipment should be proportional to the amount of music you listen to.

If anyone's into high-end equipment but doesn't have a equal-value music collection he's probably too well off
