maybe the same taiwan magazine that favourably reviews AFA cables lol. always get a kick when i see them on the front page as "high-end".

However, I'd like to list down a few names of these speaker "brands" so tht people won't pay excessively for such products.

Guess i'm irked when I read about these speakers but I refrain from posting in people's WTS threads, its a free market after all. Its also not illegal whatsover selling these speakers.

At the end of the day you can buy them if you want to but juz hope bros ard here don't end up paying too much like a few k for them. I'm sure most of us are students or young working professionals and money is dear.

In my honest and own opinion just steer clear of them.

Typical brand names of such speakers:

Accusound
Audio Resource
Camelot Audio
Carlson Audio
Cleo
EKO
Glatten Audio
Linear Acoustik
Linear Phase
Orix
Pure Acoustics

Pls add in any more names if u can but let's hopefully try to avoid accusing companies wrongly. I'll remove any names if i'm wrong as well.

Pls add VAV (USA)

my fren kena conned...also in carpark...sigh! I wasnt there to advise him.

I bought a Pure Accoustics set about a year ago for SGD 200 and they don't sound that bad when watching TV or movies. The build quality is really solid. Bass is lacking but mids and highs are quite okay considering the standard bathroom tiling in my condo. If I want to listen to quality, I'll use my portable rig

I hv rec a call about free trial for som linear acoustik speakers (and given free after trial) but must pay $180 for tspt. suspect it's a scam (tspt in sg for 5 speakers where got so ex one) and don't believe in freee lunch, but they hv showroom and all and give me phone number to go view before commiting. if speakers worth more than $180, then still worth a try ... so wanna understand as much as i can before i een bother to go hv a look.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I would love to see an episode of Get Real featuring this. Heheh secret cameras to record how these people operate and how they can make a living of conning buyers day after day, year after year.
