Really a lot of diff!!!!!!!! OMG...!! froze Sep 3rd, 08, 01:09 AM #1 (permalink)
Today when to LHS... initially wanted to buy Canare 4S11 Cable.. but they out of stock.. so was checking wif the uncle abt my Soundcard -> z5500 Control Pod Cable...

And we struck a deal.. 3 x 1m analog cable. Sleeved into 1 cable...and oso coloured plug so i dun have to write on the cables.

After reaching home.. unpack the big box of MO stuff.. then straight away change my cable.. to my surprise the music sound so much better..!!!

OMG... i didn't know the default cable so F*** UP...!! OMG..

I bought Belden 1309A for my speakers.. but dun have time to change.. now still using default.. i think saturday then change..

I will give full review of the cable this saturday!!
+ Picture too!!

Welcome to the cable world (:

It's sometimes hard to believe how much of a difference cables make until you start playing around with them. I have spent so much on cables it's not even funny anymore, but to me, it was completely worth it.

We all once had "WTH can these xxxx do?" periods.

Now I'm currently at power cables, meaning "WTH can those nanotechs do?"

I've personally never doubted "expensive" cables. After all, I always feel that if something is truly genuine bullcrap, everyone will be up in arms everywhere (*ahem* Monstercable comes to mind *ahem*).

To be honest however, I did originally have some little doubts about power cables at first on my own... those doubts were cleared up pretty quick though (:

Still, with the endless number of cable brands out in the market these days due care must always be taken prior to committing to a purchasing decision. Always do lots and lots of reading and lots and lots of searching on Google.

Part of the reason I swear by Ecosse is because they continue to show that all they're interested in is to make a quality product. They don't spend endless amounts of money creating fancy websites, they don't spend endless amounts of money on advertising and they certainly don't spend endless amounts of money on fancy cable packaging either.

My four-figure price-tag Audiophile-Reference Grade "Soundman Pro" digital interconnect came packaged in a simple plastic box with some cheap foam.

This is exactly what I want... I want the money to go into making a quality product, not promoting it.

Additionally, Ecosse very rarely ever upgrades their product range. Most of my Ecosse cables are decade old technology... which is how it's meant to be... how often do you think a cable company can possibly find a new way to make a cable better? Not very often I think. If someone can come and claim they make a better cable every other six to twelve months then something is so very wrong somewhere.

(This posting was intended to be more of an educational post more than anything else by the way. The audio business is a tricky one and there are lots of brands out there which overprice their products.)

Welcome to the world of D.I.Y cables. Give it a bit more time to run in and they will sound even better.

Hahaha.. Ask Rag. He's the only one who got a pair of 4S11 with Canare F10 plugs from me! Need to mod e latter to fit, too.

By the way, if u spoke to the boss in white short sleeve shirt. His name is Robert.

I spoke to a uncle who's very short n wearing specs 1..
but he very nice la.. i wanted the Canare 4S11 for my Z-5500... he tell me no need waste sure $$.... buy 4S11 the cable maybe cannot even fit into my speaker holes... performance abt same...

But when he said that he doesn't have stock for Canare 4S11 la.. LOL. So how true i really dunno. I took Belden 1309A coz i thinking Belden shouldn't be that bad.. @ least confirm mid range.

Btw Phil since we talking abt cable.. i wanna ask u something that i'm trying to find out. The uncle tell me to keep the front left and right cable the same length, same goes for the surround. Reason being that if diff length, the left might be louder then right or vice versa. Is it true?
