Good evening everyone,

i am currently using a pair of ae5 for my mac with a dac, however im thinking can i link it to my ps3 as well at the same time? when i am using one, i will mute the other. will there be any issue? and how do i go about doing it?

p.s am i only able to use AE subwoofer on my ae5 or can i buy some other subwoofer for it?

ok after reading, i found out that i need a receiver.

is there a good receiver for ps3? just receiver alone, and my room is small, like say 4mx4m with a normal hdb ceiling. so i dont think i need a really powerful receiver do i?

i dun think u need a receiver.. u need a pre-amp so u can just switch between the input of ur dac or ps3.

or is there a way u can switch input of ur dac from ps3 or PC?

im using a stylo dac

as far as i can see, its just 2 rca cable, so im actually at a lost.

get those 1 rca to 2rca adapter? will that cause a issue to my speaker?

Professionals will say that using the mentioned splitter to combine two inputs into one may cause a bit of problem sometimes (along with the technical reasoning to back it up), but there's usually no problem actually.

Make sure that the output volume levels of both sources are set to similar levels.

Why don't you connect S8 first then to A5?

Source -> DAC -> S8 -> A5

i dont own a s8 for now. still thinking if i should buy it or can i use another subwoofer in place of it.

i just went ahead to buy the as8 and its really a good piece of sub.

however when i try to place 2 input on my ae5. the sound turn really very soft however when i take out one of the input, it return to normal.

how should i go about doing it?

1 more question.

if say i get a receiver to go along with my 2.1 system, will my ps3 have nicer sound when i uses a receiver that can receive lcmp from my ps3 or it will sound the same as one that cant receive lcmp from my ps3?

i know that its all about surround sound but then i only have a 2.1 not a 5.1 system

AV receiver is for passive speakers.
Your A5 and S8 are self powered, just plug it into either one of them.
I Believe with the A5 and S8 you'd have additional 2 inputs.

No need for a AV receiver -but if you do get one then you'd have to get another set of passives.

*I don't mind taking over your A5 and S8

yes i do know about that, but my sub and speaker can plug in to the receiver without any issue right?

im actually thinking of adding 2 more passive speaker and a receiver now to make it 4.1

any recommendation? my budget will be around 1k+ abit.
