Just hooted a Audiotec ATH SJ5 today @ comex for $54.40.
Any audiophiles got comments on this headset?

saw a comment on another forum that i should get it recabled for

I think you should just save up and get a better pair for upgrade.
Tweaks like this for a low end cans is not worth the trouble.

lolz audio technica becoming very commercial shud not buy such brands as the're aiming for public and not true audiophiles better luck next time hooting

low end cans its not worth to recable as re-cabling fee is much higher than this can itself. get yourself esw7 and above.

Well from saying this i can tell you havent heard their better headphones... suggest you go try them out before talking.. high end Audio Technicas are quite coveted by audiophiles..

lolz bro im using alessandro ms-pro and sennheiser hd800 so please dont ask me try other stuff out im also a proud owner of the two imba custom which are jh-13 and ue-11 anyway wat i say ther is becoz i dont think ts noes about places lyk jaben so wat im trying to tell him is tat anything outside lyk electrical stores would be all dam commercial and no where near good sound quality but audio technica higher end arent really that impressive compared to last time sadly they have globalize and arent making the products towards audiophile imho

Haha just read his post history,he really something ah.Got JH-13, UE-11, ES3X, UE TF10, FS Atrios, Klipsch IEMs, Skulltrail, HD800 and MS Pro and using really expensive home set-up some more. I am really interested to see his collection of electronic and audio stuffs.

To TS,there is no need to do recabling on the SJ5 cos the effort and price just is not worth it. The gain will be minimal and you are better off getting a better set of cans. Just my 2 cents' worth.
