At that price,you can only get a FiiO E5 I think.However,I will advise you against it since the upgrade will be minimal.It is better that you save up and upgrade your IEM.

because the case i am using right now for my ipod forces me to use the 3.5mm jack extender, and the extender keeps giving up on me in like a few months, so i'm trying to switch to a portable amp + dock. what would be a better "value" upgrade if my budget increase to 200?

You can get the Govibe derringer for 99 or a 2nd hand ordnance .22 for around 70

you can get a second hand go-vibe vulcan mini with DAC for that price... super super value for money in my opinion.. much better than fiios and the derringer and .22... and best is you can use it with your comp also..

If you are willing to invest a little more.

You can get a matching iBasso T4 for $169 at Stereo at Plaza Sing.

However you should get yourself a Lineout Dock first so you can get the best out of any amp you decide to buy.

Cost and build quality varies from basic functional to audiophile high end that borders upon snake oil.

As long as you are using any amp that costs $100 and above. A lineout dock is a must for ipod users to reap the most benefits.

If you want to try them out. You can head down to Stereo @ Plaza Sing or Jaben @ Adelphi. Use your better judgement and dont get misled when deciding to purchase.
