Enquire of hooking up CPU to LCD TV Criteria Oct 4th, 09, 04:58 PM #1 (permalink)
hi guys,

would like to check with u guys>does anyone of u ever tried to hook up e CPU to the LCD TV(32" above) through DVI or HDMI port to surf net/streaming movie? Is the clarity good as LCD Monitor?

depends on the resolution
but Text is not as sharp as LCD monitor, pictures still okay.

I see...thx for e info^

Was deciding should buy a LCD TV for my coming new hse but i didnt watch TV program at all and that's y this thought come to my mind. If this is e case buy a LCD TV will be a white elephant....and a hse without TV seem funny also right?

Hmm,headache...any solution?

You can erm maybe get a stereo set and listen music.

To me TV is a must have... due to convenience. I seldom watch TV, but when eating I still on it.

Clarity... good ones with proper receivers can be sharp enough to use as monitors. Must get those full HD ones better to avoid the incompatibility problems associated with HD-Ready screens.

Been using a 52" lcd tv for the longest time as monitor, via dvi/hdmi. I don't see any issue at all. The picture quality is better than LCD monitor for sure, in terms of contrast and colour, but it may lose out in terms of resolution vs a similar size monitor. This only matters if you are seated right infront of your monitor and plan to use high resolution for something like photoshop. No impact on movies at all as even bluray movies are only 1080p.

Honestly, 1920x1080 resolution is already pretty high for me. The print is already abit too small in IE and I've got to use the enlarging tool quite often when surfing.
