Today i tried out crysis on win xp, which was a huge leap of faith cos i thought i might be missing out on dx10 features...to my surprise it ran so much better! At least 15-20fps better on my pc. Then i found out patch 1.1 just came out..and for those who understand, i had no choice but to reinstall.

Dunno i unlucky or what, got this stupid girl colleague of mine, well, not literally stupid but is a very weird and unique character in this company.
She is being outcast in here in a way that people avoid talking to her, asking her things, going to lunch with her.

The problem with her is that she is petty, talks w/o using her brains and likes to take advantage of people. For example, when she knows you have a car, she will try her best to befriend you and after that constantly ask you to be her 'lunch kakis'. Isnt it disgusting? i'm glad i'm out of her clutches and now she is clinging on another colleague.

I dont need another of such people in my company.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's research arm has sued computer chip maker Intel claiming the company violated the university's patents in making the popular Core 2 Duo processor.
The federal lawsuit, filed Tuesday, alleges technology used in the processor to increase its speed and efficiency was created by researchers at the university and Intel should have obtained a licensing agreement to use it.
The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, a private, nonprofit patent management organization that supports research and controls the university's patents, filed the lawsuit. It claims the computer chip's microarchitecture infringes on a 1998 patent based on work by four researchers including Gurindar S. Sohi, chair of the computer science department.
"The technology of the UW-Madison researchers has been widely recognized in the field of computer architecture as a pioneering invention," WARF's attorney Michael Falk said.

According to the latest calculations, tubes built out of the element boron could have many of the same properties as carbon nanotubes, the ubiquitous components of nanoengineering. And for some electronic applications, they should even be better than carbon.Boron nanotubes will have a more complicated shape than the simple linked hexagons that work for carbon, as the chemistry of boron makes that chicken-wire pattern unstable. The first boron nanotubes to be created, in 2004, are thought to be formed from a buckled triangular latticework.But according to Xiaobao Yang, Yi Ding and Jun Ni from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, the best configuration for boron is to take the unstable hexagon lattice and add an extra atom to the centre of some of the hexagons (see image, below).
