Photoshop CS3 in Vista - "Could not complete your request because of a program error"

Pesky crap.
If you encounter this error msg in Vista whenever you try to open any PSD files in Photoshop CS3,
Try: Go to printer settings->Add New Printer. Select Microsoft XPS documenter printer.
Then set this printer as DEFAULT printer.
Re-open the PSD file again.
And it works.
WTF

| | I had to register to say thanks for posting this resolution. This works for XP as well. I kept getting the Could not complete your request because of a program error . On all of my psd's that had any text in them. I did all of the other 'fixes' listed in Google and nothing else worked. Thanks again. |

| | i registered here too just to say that this is what FINALLY fixed mine. i tried repairing, uninstall/reinstall, reset preferences, basically everything else google searches came up with. then a week later i find this one, and for some stupid ass reason THIS was the fix. i second the wtf does a virtual printer have to do with psd's?!?!? the problem would happen for me on -any- file i tried to open with ps. if i did a brand new blank psd (just file, new, ok), saved it, closed ps, then tried to open it i would get the error. there's no reason a stupid virtual printer should have any effect on a blank doc. oh well, i'm fixed now! just gotta reinstall all my plugins and recreate the actions i forgot to save thank you, thank you, thank you! |

| | "Could not complete your request because of a program error" With windows XP, you go in your printers and setup any PDF printer as default, and, it works. WTF This man is a genius and I registered to show gratitude. He probably works for adobe or miscrosoft. |
