Add KDE 3.3 to Clarkconnect 4.3

Posted Oct 2nd, 08 at 08:43 PM by LordAlfa
Why a GUI on a server? Well, this is good if you want to just access your CC server on the local machine with https://localhost:81

Next in line is to put MythTV or VideoLAN server on the CC server to dish out streaming media files of HDTV from a WinTV PVR.

Alt-F2 on the local machine or use Putty to your server to execute these commands.

edit /etc/apt/sources.list file

nano /etc/apt/sources.list
add this line
rpm http://vault.centos.org/4.5/apt/i386 . addons centosplus contrib extras os updates csgfs fasttrack

apt-get update
apt-get install xorg-x11 xorg-x11-tools xorg-x11-twm xorg-x11-xdm fonts-xorg-100dpi fonts-xorg-75dpi

Configure X environment by executing this command

X -configure

cp /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/xorg.conf

nano /etc/xorg.conf

alter this line under Section "Input Device" from
Option "Device"...

This is for Asterisk 1.4.22.2 Asterisk-addons 1.4.7 Zaptel 1.4.12 Libpri 1.4.7 and Freepbx 2.3.1 you can upgrade to 2.4 or 2.5 by following the Freepbx upgrade tool by downloading the module in the Module Admin.

What if I cannot find the SM56 Fax Modems or Intel Fax Modem?

Posted Jan 24th, 08 at 08:20 PM by LordAlfa
There are several sources but they are not cheap.

1. http://www.X100P.com

They started where Digium left off. The components are top quality as from the pictures. All surface mounted. They are US$30 each excluding shipping. You can find some other clones but this is the best there is. Great thing is that they are 3.3V compatible and do have a low profile bracket bundled for the mini ITX setups.

2. TDM400P or TDM800P

These are 4 port and 8 port cards. The best thing is that they are FXO and FXS configurable but you need to buy the respective module. There are many manufacturers out there besides Digium. OpenVox is a cheap alternative. They are clearing 12 port cards for US$300 with 8 analog modules.

The other is ZapMicro.

In case anyone do not know what is FXO and FXS, simply put, FXO connects to your phone company. FXS connects normal...

Adventures with TrixBox

Posted Jan 24th, 08 at 08:01 PM by LordAlfa
Having a spare Mini-ITX, I have decided to make this into a TrixBox IP PBX.

It will have:
1 analog trunk in/out from the StarHub Digital Voice.
2 Digital VOIP trunks in/out from pFingo http://www.pFingo.com S$12/year per line.

The Hardware.

This is the mini-ITX that I have. It is an ITOX G5M100-N with a 1.7 Pentium M Centrino. 1GB DDR 400 RAM. 40GB HDD. Slim CD Drive for loading the OS.

The X100P single channel analog input/output card will be mounted on a riser provided by the Morex 2699 case.

As you can see, the X100P is actually a fax/modem card but not all fax modem cards can be used. I was fortunate to find through the used racks of 4th floor of SLS the cards that were compatible.

This is the Motorola 62802-52 fax modem card....
