Read this from the web...trying to understan what it means
---------------------------------------------------------

"there are only four screws that you need to removed the mid section where the fan is , those four screws are on the deep corners of this mid section once you removed those four screws you can now easy replace your fan"

There are four screws on the outer edges of the inside metal piece. Simply slide out MB tray you should not have to full remove it but just slide it out then use a small screw driver to slide in each of the little holes and unscrew the screw on the inside attacking the fans casing to the case. Once that is done the whole metal fan housing will be removable. You can then remove the 2 screws from the top and bottom of the housing. You then at that point can remove the actual 4 screws holding the fan in place and replace the fan then reassemble the whole thing. Took me about 30mins to do. Well that and i was cleaning everything. Also be careful when putting the fan housing back on the case the holes you have to slide the screw driver in to deattach it are very deep so you will want to make sure all the screws are in place before you start trying to put it back together. Hope this helps some. Case temps have dropped somewhat i will be more sure when i have some time to game on my computer.

Another site i read
------------------

You have to remove the screws from inside of the midsection fan case...its not too bad coming out.,you kinda have to ''feel'' for the screws with the screw driver, but re-installing the fan case will definately require a magnetic tip screw driver to hold the screws that secure the fan case to the 09's chassis....I did it to mine and all went fine,.. just take your time and make sure you dont cross thread the screws

Let try it out

i am not sure it is worth it or not.. but i like to use strong fans and connect to the fan controller to fine tune the speed i prefer for benching/daily gaming/surfing at night

after i changed to the Thermalright HR-03 there hasn't been a problem with the temp. you should look at the thermalright hr-03 plus for your 8800.
i really find it stupid that mid-section fan and rear fan are they same model yet the cabling is different. i can't change the speed of the mid-section fan.

Har, i guess i am the newest member to the TJ09 club. I am using the one with side window and is modding a blowhole on the bottom left handside of the side panel. Will there be great difficulty removing the side panel after the modding is done??
