How to mount a 120mm fan on the cd drive bay? BBfifa07 May 12th, 08, 07:39 PM #1

erm.... need help again, my friend's computer casing front does not support a 120mm fan, so im thinking of mounting a 120mm fan on the cd drive bay, size= 3 bay, heard that theres a extender to mount it on. is there selling the extender to support the fan on the cd drive bay?
so that it can blow the air into the computer.

URL: Where to buy 120mm fan mount?

I asked the same question about a week ago. But looks like no one knows....If you manage to find one, do inform me. The next best option I guess would be the lian-li hdd accessory off potterhouse.

The easiest to find at SLS would be the CM HD bay

If no HD required, this may be good

ya i agree that the 'KAMA BAY' look good! but 800rmp look slow de. not enough to push air in
unless change the Fan lor.
dunno how much it cost? i think around $29?

i think we should find a bay which support a 120mm fan with the mess panel only, n buy a high speed 120mm fan to mount it on.

i only know that the coolermaster 4in3 stacker cost $39.

I did the exact same thing as the guy above me, simply bolt the fans on to the plates that occupy your empty drive bays, my case has foam in the front drive bay covers so no dust for me. It's pretty easy to make a filter too, the material from aquarium filters works quite well. Also, the zip tie idea would work just fine as long as they are extremely tight. You can also simply make your own mount, 4 little strips of aluminum, roughtly 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch, screw size hole in each end, bolt one end to the chassis and the other on the fan mount. Little bit more stability and comfort that way. To be 100% honest, with a little bit of thought and ingenuity there are countless ways to do this, some easier and more expensive, but over all better, and some less expensive but require more work and/or not as quality. Either way, good luck.
