What length of sleeve and heatshrink is needed to unisleeve psu and fans? IRn00bleto Jul 8th, 09, 06:40 PM #1 (permalink)
Looking to order techflex sleeving and heatshrink to unisleeve my psu and 2-3 fans. The cables that need sleeving are: 24 pin atx, 6 pin and 8 pin PCI-E cable, 2 sata power cable (each have 3 connector) 4 pin and 8 pin cpu power cable. 2-3 3 pin fans also need sleeving. So what length is needed and what size heatshrink and sleeve is needed?

if you're using techflex, all single power wires use 1/8" sleeves and heatshrink. fans can be sleeved with 1/4" sleeves and heatshrink.

for length, you'd have to measure the actual length of cables/wires that you want to sleeve... then multiply that number by the number of cables/wires. round up the total a little bit for some buffer.
for example. 24pin atx. wire length is 3 feet, but you only want 2 feet to be sleeved. 24x2 = 48. round it off a bit to 50ft.

others prefer the murdermod sleeves. the wires underneath won't show at all. the site also lists their recommended sleeve and heatshrink sizes.
