Nope, the ThermalRight 120 Extreme fits in my CM 690 case. The only thing to watch out for is the placement for RAMs if it is too close to the CPU slot on the motherboard.

Certain RAMs like Dominator (due to the height) may have problems fitting on certain motherboards with TR 120 Extreme.

i think is not possible to install true vertically with 2 top fans included. tried alr....

if install horizontally, should the fan below be blowing out or sucking it air?

fan below should be sucking in air.

Well, cold air sinks, hot air rises.

Generally, I will configure my casing such that, the air flows from bottom of the casing to the top. Correspondingly, the air flows from front of the casing to the back.

So my TR 120 would be positioned such that the bottom fan sucks in air and the top fan blows out. And the fans on the top of my casing will suck the hot air and expelled it from the system.

well, cold air sinks and hot air rises, that's the fact. but i have tested out previously with my stock cooler by using top 2 as intake and it manage to reduce by 2-3c compare to when as exhast. i have 2 exhaust fan at the back of my casing running at 2k rpm.

so i suppose it will be betta to blow out air at the bottom of true? this is is will be blowing at the back of my gpu to help cooling? i donno it will be hot or cold air blowing out. will try out aft i get my new thermal paste.

Just as long as i works for you.

For your reference, my CM690 casing is fitted with 11 chasis fans altogether. Noise level is still fine (same level of noise as my Dell Precision)

In an aircon room vs. w/o, the AMD Phenom II x4 955 CPU (Stock speed, with TR 120 black and 2 fans) temp is around 33 - 36 degrees, South Bridge around 39 - 41 degrees, North Bridge range between 35 - 42 degrees and CrossHair MB is 31 - 35 degrees. Reading comes from the LCD provided by CrossHair MB.

My two 4890 crossfire card temperature is 53 - 58 degrees for first one and the second is 44 - 47 degrees on idle. Readings from Smart Doctor - ASUS.

Other components in my systems like the Intel SSD and SB Xi-Fi, I can't tell since I don't use temperature probes.

Althought, I had invested quite a bit on the cooling system, I wasn't sure if it actually works or what I should expect for the norm temp. It would be good if someone could provide some readings so as to compare and figure out what's the diff. (Yeah, I know having more fans doesn't always help lower the temp)
