Ikoi @ Miramar Hotel ~ $30+++
The sashimi and sushi are better than the usual conveyer belt restaurant. Sashimi are thick not those thin type you find @ sukae sushi. Lots of complimentary food .. like soup and some cooked food. Lack of variety as usual for buffet. Wasabi better than Sakae. Like their chicken cutlet. Nice touches such as each seat is prepare with a small portion of sashimi even before order. Envrionment: Look alot like those jap restaurant you see on TV: Small and Cramp. Advice: Concentrate on the Sashimi and Sushi. Don't try too many cooked food cos it will spoil your appetite. Let them know how many slices of sashimi you want when you order because the waiting time can be long.

Hanabi @ Bukit Timah Rd ~ $30+++
This place is bigger than Ikoi therefore if you don't like cramped place can try this place. Food is ok but i think Ikoi is better. Sashimi is thin like those at Sakae Sushi and they are precut in order to serve faster unlike Ikoi which is cut on the spot. Their maki are pretty big not those small one which is serve at Sakae. Generous amount of mayo for their maki and handroll. Like their Soft shell crab handroll and ebi tampura maki. Wasabi is also better than Sakae. Staff there are pretty friendly but got a couple wrong orders by one of their staff when i was there. I think this is a one-off thing.

Advice: Please make reservation cos it is usually very packed for both restaurants and go with an empty stomach For your first order, please order more cos have to wait.

That's why I think Osahime still has its advantages, even though the sushi is not great (stingy on toppings) and they remind you to finish up everything. But their sashimi is really good and fresh, thick slabs of firm meat, juicy AND variety too. Love the swordtail. For buffet, sashimi is usually the biggest value.

WA I seriously agree. Jurong point's kushin-bo is a complete EPIC FAILURE! Went there the other day and regretted. Servings are like so little. Each time they bring out a tray of food to refill, it finishes in like 5mins. And variety is really little.
