Dell streak on SH proyb2 Jan 16th, 11, 12:36 AM #1

Looking at Dell streak, it look interesting with 5" inches display. Anyone can comments if this is worth to buy?

Tried it hands on. Not a bad device. But the only thing that is bugging me is that will Dell support OS update, from 2.2 to 3.0?? So far I know only HTC offers OS upgrade for some of their handsets. The rest like Motorola & Sony does not offer such after sales service on their website.

Wah seh, looking at this benchmark, it fare too poorly.

Android benchmarks: HTC EVO 4G vs Dell Streak vs Motorola Droid X vs Samsung Captivate

I guess HTC Desire HD would be a better choice since they are well-target on Asia market

erm.... the dell streak in your link is using Android 1.6. You should find one that is running on Android 2.2 to compare with.

But still even on 2.1... it is still ranked last~

Don't bother, with the Tegra 2 platform's mass announces/launch the already dated Snapdragon inside the streak is simply chui.

Dell on 2.2 still poorer than Nexus in score. But stunning when Galaxy S with lagfix or version 2.2.1 outperform HTC.

To be honest, when I tried the Streak hands on (Version 2.2), it does feel a tad sluggish. Anyone can confirm?

yeah the streak and desire Z were my 2 candidates for a recent upgrade. The streak had this sluggishness. probably their UI.

I see the video already feel gaming so sluggish.

On the other hand, I found Samsung Galaxy S gaming is too dark until the player can't even see the enemies.

Feel Dell shouldn't have produce streak when they can't even compete Nexus.

Desire Z should be able to fix their lag through unofficial patch. When A3.0 release, it will certainly be as solid as iPhone 4.

I would think HD is better with 1GHz but video camera recording cmi compare to Galaxy S. Battery life should be note if there a spike in CPU, one of the task is buggy but can be fix.

Maybe you can find some Desire owner having software bugs with their mobile phone on Youtube, you will get the idea.
