but many cases, those junk calls have their numbers withheld, so even with Caller ID, the caller number doesnt show.... in the end we still pick up the call and got bombarded with non-stop hard sell!

Another would be those MLM companies selling pen for few dollars.

Tampines.. Raffles City.. well, they move around like a nomad.

So best is to sms ur friends, and if possible, post in forums alerting people of such activities, and others can avoid them.

juz getting really pissed with all these nonsense calls everyday (even if you tell A company to stop, they will just sell ur info to B company and the play merry-go-round) and hope to be able to compile a good list of these numbers ~ properly posted and captured by major search engines, then next time got these weird numbers, can check easily ... see whether to call back the missed call or not

WITHHELD? i dont pick up also ... if its realy important, they will leave me a voicemail .. if its close friend, they will sms ... if its overseas, they will email (its free) =D

rule of thumb ~ if you don't want me to know who you are, don't expect me to want to find out

Way Of The Dragon: From a distance - 20 paddlers move in perfect rhythm to a muted drum beat, gracefully skimming the water's surface. Up close - determined grunts and strained sinews with oars in grip, dig vigorously into the water. The majestic head of the dragon fronts this contraption but the real heart lies just behind it, at the apex of the bow. Like a conductor of an orchestra, the drummer leads his crew with the calculated beat of his drum. Such is the realm of dragon boating.

there was this one time ... i went to SUNTEC CITY TOWER OFFICES ... it was after 6pm (only entrance from main road open), so must go past guard post and all visitors supposed to register (i guess for security purposes)

some of the details required were

1) name
2) mobile
3) I/C no

didn't think much of it ....

after my biz at tower office, walked around a bit at suntec, then walked back toward citylink to take mrt, passed by a road show (by a bank) around convention hall area ... 2 days later, received a call from THAT bank ask me about my "recent" registration for their credit card ... and asked me to provide them with my income statements for confirmation.

damn surprised, i replied ... i didn't make any application at all ... the girl over the phone insisted ... "yes, yes you did, we even have your signature and I/C no"

* sigh * ... the wonderful state of personal security and privacy in one of our nation's top office / convention centres

p/s : ever wonder why is it that, after you complete lucky draw contest forms, you never win the prizes, but instead you start to receive a lot more calls from marketers - guess who's the "lucky" one?
