PES == Physical Employment Status

determined thru medical checkup which mindef will require you to take 1 year before you are due to be in NS...

PES ranges from A, B, C, E... D is for undetermined PES status, F is not liable for NS...

there's also Land deployment code pegged to the PES status, ranging from L1 to L9... Last time applicable to only PES C, now as i have heard applies to PES B too...

PES A - Very fit for combat, no medical condition

PES B - Fit for combat, with minor problems like slight obesity or history of injuries

PES C1 - Upper Limb got probem, Excuse upper limb or heavy load

PES C2 - Lower Limb got problem, Excuse lower limb or Running Marching Jumping (RMJ)

PES C9 - back or spinal problem, or more serious or compund physical problem. Generally no physical exercise. Reservice cut to 5 years.

PES D - Pending status

PES E - Medically unfit, like high blood pressure, fits, diabetes...Excuse all physical activities. No reservice.

PES F - disabled, not fit for army.

Among PES C and E, got different levels (eg EL9 or C1L2 or C9L9). I only know L9 is excuse outfield.

PES E is almost confirm clerk. PES C's vocation include storeman, clerk, technician, svc medic, ammo tech...

reservice lah. After ur Operation Ready Date, every year need come back a week liddat to "revise" your skills. till you 50 years old or something. PES C9 means u only reservice for 5 years.
