KKK to FT [even FW now] is being born and nurtured here in Singapore.

Please avoid all unnecessary xenophobic actions and words in our life.

    Well...

Technically, since the Filipinos and Mainlanders tend to form enclaves, that qualifies as xenophobic behavior too.

The point is that, its was piss poor policy execution to not realize the implications of a large influx of culturally distinct people.

The old guard had the foresight to have a racial quota for HDB, but the next generation cant even learn from the lessons of the past?

    zzzzzzzz.......

Okay I'm going to shut up now, enough thread jacking :p

There will be others who will adopt such practices but by emulating them does not balance things out.

The fact that the thread went from condemning bad driving to another one about foreign talent policy is already a sign of how bad things are. But to continue the thread in that direction is simply pointless since it will just degenerate into hate talk. Look at all the other threads whether they start innocently or not. Some guy will start a hate rhetoric and soon the fist pumping, chest thumping will follow.

Nevermind, I already give up and this is my last post on such topics. I am just going to arm and prepare to defend myself against opportunists and extremists who will use the chaos to further their own agendas.

First, no traffic lights anywhere near the scene so I guessing she is Jaywalking?

I understand taking the long route is tiring but these old ppl really shouldn't try their luck. Their reflexes are now so slow and they walk slow. Everytime I see them "rushing" to cross the road and I can't help but think they are courting their own death.

    RIP

Did I say something wrong? Maybe is obvious but these old ppl keep on doing it so I trying to point things out from the driver's point of view. I lost count how many times I accelerate and suddenly notice an old lady/man rushing to cross the road and I have to hit the brakes. Drivers are not always in the wrong.

U reading too much 9gag already. All those pics are really stopping to be funny by the way.

If you watched the video, the old lady was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing with the traffic lights in her favor.

My Dad was an FT in the 80s; he wasn't hired based on academic papers but rather his work experience. Btw, I am from KK hospital.

Thanks. I have removed the warning.

The video was removed a while back. Good chance folk haven't watched it yet.

It's pretty much 95% fail on the bus driver's side.

I just want to say this: The traffic light is green and the green man appears. You start walking and just crossed the divider. If you were that lady and saw the bus coming without intention to stop, even if you were to jump or run, you would still get hit, or worse, run over by the wheels if you fell down. The bus will take up almost two lanes to turn. The fact that the bus driver did not even e-brake or brake means he totally failed to realise there is a pedestrian. Reportedly he was stopped by others.

Man vs big machine. If one cannot even take good control of a large machine that can possibly kill, that person should not even drive. Pedestrian has the right of way no matter what, you should know it if you are a driver.

RIP old lady. She had just bought lunch and on her way home when the accident occurred.
