Changing jc? zufarsk8 Apr 30th, 12, 03:44 PM #1

Hey guys so i was wonderign if i can still change jc.
reason: i would like to continue gymnastics as a CCA.

i know i can continue it as an external cca but its difficult that way compared to having it as an internal cca.
i am planning to go to CJC for gymnastics. i could have gotten into that school thru normal JAE COP but it was too far from where i live. but now i have plans to live with relatives if i can transfer there. i have been doing gymnastics for 14 years and is a former national gymnast. Is it still possible to go CJC?
if not, can i apply jae/appeal into CJC and start as a J1 again next year?
i know its a dumb idea but its really passion. i will be wasting a year but i wont regret the next 40. and after doing gymnastics for 14 years its really a waste if i stop.

What is your current JC ?
CJC has it's own student hostel if you don't want to travel home daily.

It's definitely possible to transfer JC, if you give the JC you're transferring to a reason to accept you. You've been a national gymnast, so your chances are high. However, you have to speak to both sides of course, your current JC and CJC.

i am currently in TPJC. I could have gotten in CJC cause i got 10 point but distance was a huge factor. TPJC is just a few minutes walk for me.
i dint consider the hostel since i think its expensive? plus its quite weird if i live in singapore and steal the hostel spots from all those scholars...

i spoke to my CT and he says the school will not stop a student from leaving. but im wondering how i should approach CJC. cause i believe all JC office will just keep saying "no cannot transfer" without evaluating the case beforehand. :,(

Call up and enquire if there is a possibility of transfer.

It is not hard to ask for a transfer, call to make an appointment with the principal before hand. During your meeting, tell him/her why you deserve to be in his/her school.

Alternatively, go and meet up with the gymnastic coach and ask him/her to speak on your behalf.

You basically have to be a value add for them to want you.
