[Stomp] Huge crowds stranded due to train fault

Crowds stranded due to train fault

A technical glitch in an MRT train bound for the North-South direction during the morning peak hour left commuters in a frustrating wait for the next one.

The crowd was so huge that people had to stand all the way till the other side of the platform.

According to STOMPer Alan, in his MMS to STOMP, they waited close to 6 minutes and even had to miss the next few trains, due to the congestion.

    He said:

" I think passengers from the previous train were asked to alight too because the station was unusually packed.

"I had to take a train back to the earlier stations to avoid the crowd and I still see the same people waiting to board when I get back to Admiralty. And I still ended up being late for work"

Oh oh. Think they gotta raise fare price again to 'improve' the service standard.

Not again. This is indeed a disturbing 'world class' transport system. How to encourage car users to switch over?!

Their breakdown frequency is getting towards the UK standards.

Every morning at around 7.45am there is always a 5 minutes wait for the train at Woodlands MRT towards Jurong East MRT. That's e most packed train that one can ever board during the peak hours. Sp "world class"

I find SMRT has not catered enough for the Yew Tee - Sembawang stretch. Look at how many have to wait at Yishun 'cos the train ends there and the worse thing is the next train that comes which continues to Sembawang, it is so freaking packed.

Hey, SMRT didn't win their Best Customer Experience award for nothing. There is no better experience than trying to squeeze into a full packed train in the morning. Must emulate Japan who also runs a world class train service.

It's the same for every train that is going towards industrial area or town. In fact once the train leaves the first terminal station, it is already packed to the brim.
