If getting third party, better enquire on how they extend the cable.
Last time my third party do until very sucky as he use a splitter to split the signal from the point in the living room, then all channels very grainy for all the rooms...zzz
Starhub contract personel split the signal from the main point outside the house. Now the signal is at acceptable range with no grainy images at all rooms.

That's price I was quoted but lost the name card liao.. Sollie.

Try yellowpages and look for electricians.

BTW, splitting inside or outside the house depends on ya house's original no. of SCV pts. Mine can only split from inside.

i dont think so. i call and requested installation while my dad's not at home. They did the job, i paid and they left. Just need to sign some documents and agree on where and how the cable point is installed.

It depends really.. For landed property or places that are not cable ready, they do have a main splitter these days.
For HDB apartments with a single point already installed, they will split off the first point if it's nearer. ie. back to back on the wall. Thankfully, the first point is almost always a splitter cum booster with power injection from the main riser side.
