In reply to TS's qn, if it's MIJ, it will be proudly displayed on the watch itself. Japs are proud of their work.

yea if it's from china, they got funny way to twist the fact like showing "product of china" or something of china which dont directly indicate made in china

Well, according to their sales rep here in sg, only a few models are directly from japan

easy indication is from their model no. itself
they say at the end of the model no. must be J

eg:SPA1324J1
what u see in sg are mainly P, K and some others

I think you should refer to my friend, a Seiko watch collector and he knows his stuff.

He ever told me the movement usually made in SG, Malaysia or China. The case is made in China and the watch assembled there unless your Seiko is a Japan Domestic Seiko or certain series then likely fully MIJ. There are ways to tell where the watch is made but I forgot liao.

I think you can email him for clarifications, this is his blog:

Your watch isn't MIJ. It will state Made in Japan right at the bottom if it is. Unless it's a vintage model, say.. from the 70's. In which case, it's definitely MIJ anyway.

7N43-OASO if I'm not mistaken is the model of movement they used in that watch. Look at the picture yourself. The model number is down there.. =) (SGG727P1 & SGG 729P1)

As per visuallin's post..
