3g has lower spec processor n ram compared to iPhone 4.0

its like trying to run win vista on a windows 2000 Pc.

dun do it if you dun need the features. most of the features useful are disabled on iphone 3g anyway

This video is not at all reliable. I am using a 3GS on iOS4, and in terms of speed, I win the 2 phones in the video on all counts.

ya la, but the spec different ma..

Iphone 3Gs
Samsung S5PC100 ARM Cortex-A8[5]
833 MHz
(Underclocked to 600 MHz

iphone 3g
Samsung 32-bit RISC ARM 1176JZ(F)-S v1.0[5]
620 MHz
(Underclocked to 412 MHz

Supposedly A4 processor in iPhone 4 even faster than 3gs, so it is quite natural for the newer firmwares to run slower on the older hardware.. just like newer windows designed to take advantage of latest hardware of course won't run as fast as older os designed to run on that older hardware.

Both are iPhone 3G's, just running different firmwares...

It's not really that faster - GPU power is still the same, but A4 SoC has the next version of series (SGX535 for 3GS, SGX540 for 4). CPU power... Well, A4 SoC has peak speed of 1GHz, but the one in 3GS peak speed lower, and the CPU in A4 SoC (and Samsung Hummingbird) is altered with added things that may or may not make it faster.
