It all depends on your expectation of a job. Some people are only interested in making lots of money, while other places family and interest first. But one thing for sure, it is hard to find a perfect job.

I quit a well paid I.T job to take up my current job to fulfill my passion, but I've fallen behind my friends in terms of pay. Basically, it is almost impossible to get the best of both worlds.

Happy, probably not. But this job offers me a flexibility that higher paying jobs don't offer. That flexibility is a boon for a person like me, someone who has a new baby and studying part-time.

I'm not interested in returning to the I.T field. Besides, I still like my current job and the $ is enough to support my family for now.

Unhappy with job or career, they are two very different things. One is caused by the work environment and the other is a choice of career.

For my job, I have to always be creative, nothing is ever the same, be it the reports and research I generate or the projects I manage.

I have often wondered what it will be like to do something monotonous, something that I don't have to be creative but just show up for work and do. It maybe applying the same principles over and over again to different sets of figures or maybe just a checkout person at a supermarket.

I am not unhappy with my job but I do wonder what it will be like otherwise.

    just my rant

10 years in the IT (FSI) industry, getting tired and restless.
Interest is no longer there, and can feel that the drive is no longer there.
Money is no longer the prority, but there is no other interest to fuel a change.

I am pretty happy with my Job. More than 2.5K as a fresh uni grad. Now finally working 2nd Year. With bonuses, 13th month and OT, I earned more than twice my previous employment at $1,600/mth for 13 months.

I am happy with what I am doing. Not exactly what I had studied in university but partly related.

I want to climb up a management level, supervisor rank or Manager Rank...at least when I need to switch job...I can get a better prospect...

I have a mixed feelings, I am happy bcoz I get paid to work the job I like to do and I feel that i reach the pinnacle of my specialization learning curve. I am not happy bcoz the person above me who didn't have basic dexterity tells me how to do my stuff..

I would say that i am. I for one dislike change, and it was hell giving up my previous job for my current one despite the crap pay. I would consider further studies if things when to hell and I became unemployable. That over being NEET eh? I wouldn't do so for the sake of getting new employment tho.

Money isn't too much of a worry for me being single, unattached and from a fairly well off household.

To me, the people I work with matter more than remuneration. If getting along with colleagues is a problem, the highest pay in the world wouldn't keep me at a job.

when you have commitments.. you are usually not being yourself when making decisions.. too many factors involved and too much risk at stake..

i am neutral with my current job. Pay is suvivable while i am expecting it to get better in time to come (norm), workload is minimal (which is good), time inflexible (cant really cope well), colleagues are nice (plus points).
But in terms of self satisfaction, this aspect fails horribly. I must move on...

If i am given $$$ or scholarship (though a lot of $$$ will better suits me now than scholarship), i will further study something which will combine my qualification with work experiences. And i will wanna go all the way till i get my PHD.

Now for me, its not just the $$$, its the time too. if given a choice, i will wanna go back in time and change the past rather then accomodate the future.
