Please help in my charity project ! Buy a wireless presenter for charity @ 28$ quantumfusion Oct 19th, 10, 07:44 PM #1

Dear all,

Please help me on a philanthropic project that i am undertaking in NUS.

We are raising fund to help under privileged students from a special school through selling of wireless presenter.

As the school does not permit us to do any publicity, please check our facebook page to know more about the organization we are helping.
Login | Facebook

The wireless presenter is priced at 28SGD/31SGD(for registered postage) with one year local warranty and
hundred percent of the profit will go to helping the charity organization !!

We need to collect 500SGD for our project and at the moment we have only a single purchase. So we are kinda desperate.

Erm, hope you don't me asking: what is the cost of the item and what is the profit? 100% profit can mean a range of numbers. Or maybe you let us know the target you want to hit? 500SGD means selling of 18 units if the profit is $28 or 500 units if the profit is $1.

Nonetheless, up for good cause .

The supplier does not want us to reveal the cost they are supplying to us .
But i can give you a rough figure that we need to sell about ~60-80 pcs to get that amount.

Invoice will be given to prove that we are really doing this for charity.

Thanks !

You could try google and find those secondary and primary schools HOD-IT email listed on their website, they will need those for their presentation.

Got it. I understand why the supplier wants to hide the cost. How come your school don't allow you to publicize this if its meant for a good cause? May I ask who exactly are the under privileged? Any particular organization? If there are more clarification, I think your sales will be better .

because of complication of raising fund publicly .
And there are hundred of similar philanthropic projects going on for this module , so the school basically says no to public fund raising.

Thanks for the feedbacks.

Which module is that? (So that I can remind myself not to take it lol)

Edit: Saw that it is MNO1001 from your facebook page. Hmm, to think I had actually considered it...

Can like... set up booth outside staff office, show demonstration of the actual item, and put up some banners/boards about the fund recipient (the one your donating to)?

Quite a weird item to use to raise funds though, things that are sellable to the larger audience aka the student body would be much easier...

i think u need to get some sort of permit for this kinda sale and yr proceeding will be subjected to audit

After yr proceeding all handed to the school. The school also have to subject themselves to audit and make sure the money will goes to the needy.

Charity and audit is destined to be together nowadays with so many mishandling of fund or donation nowadays.

For the school student, I think they can tap on school pocket money fund managed by NCSS. For meals and drinks, I guess the school will also issue coupons to the needy.

@ long siew: Thats why i am not allowed too much publicity. i am asking for personal donation here.

@kidd : YES , never ever take MNO1001 . The textbook doesnt match what the lecturer is talking about and the project is quite troublesome. I have no choice though , its my core

@weightp: so are you interested in getting one :?
